MDT Corner Office Update – Fall 2026: Progress, Partnership, and the Road Ahead

As 2026 winds down, Chris Kowal reflects on MDT milestones, continued growth, and the partnerships shaping what comes next.
MDT President and CEO Chris Kowal

Hello everyone!

Fall always seems to arrive quickly, bringing with it temperature changes, football weekends, and planning for the year ahead. At MDT, this fall also brings us closer to completion of the relocation of our Michigan data center which is one of the largest infrastructure projects we have done in many years. The project is nearly complete, and I want to personally thank all of you for your patience, flexibility, and willingness to work alongside our teams under some very tight timelines. This was a significant undertaking that included moving 78 primary hosts, nearly 300 virtual machines, and more than 100 circuits and B2B connections.

I also want to recognize our MDT team members who put in countless nights and weekends to make the transition as seamless as possible and minimize disruption to our clients and your members. We are now operating in a state-of-the-art data center space that provides a strong foundation for our technology infrastructure and positions us well for the future. Thank you to everyone who helped us get there.

Looking Ahead to Jack Henry Connect

October will also take us to Jack Henry Connect, where members of the MDT team will spend time learning, connecting with clients and partners, and exploring what is ahead for our industry. This year’s event is particularly special as Jack Henry celebrates its 50th anniversary. Our relationship with Jack Henry has been an important part of MDT’s history, and we look forward to celebrating this milestone with their team while continuing conversations about how we can work together to support credit unions in the years ahead.

Seven Years and Counting

I am also proud to share that MDT was once again named one of American Banker’s Best Fintechs to Work For, marking our seventh consecutive year receiving the honor. What makes this recognition especially meaningful is that it is driven primarily by feedback directly from our employees. It is the only workplace award we apply for each year, and earning it seven years in a row says a great deal about the people and culture that make MDT a special place to work.

Welcoming Robin Whitlock to MDT

Speaking of our people, we are excited to welcome Robin Whitlock to MDT as our new Vice President of Service Operations. Robin joins us after 25 years with Jack Henry and brings tremendous Symitar and operational experience to our organization. Reporting to Greg Lanigan, Robin will lead our Internal Application and Tier I Service Operations Support teams. Her experience, knowledge of the Jack Henry ecosystem, and passion for service will be valuable additions as we continue looking for ways to strengthen the service and experience, we provide our clients.

Your Feedback Makes a Difference

I also want to thank everyone who participated in our recent client surveys. Your feedback is extremely important to us, and we appreciate hearing where we are meeting your needs and where we can improve. Please continue participating when surveys are sent and providing feedback through the satisfaction requests you receive when service tickets are completed. We read and use this information to help us identify opportunities to improve.

And, as always, please reach out to your Client Success Manager to share your goals, strategies, concerns, potential issues, or special projects. They are your advocate within MDT and are here to help make sure you have the resources and support you need.

Welcoming New Credit Unions to the MDT Community

Finally, it is always exciting to welcome new credit unions into the MDT community. Since our last newsletter, Shoreline Credit Union in Wisconsin converted in May, Diversified Members Credit Union in Michigan converted in July, and Champions First Credit Union in Florida converted in August. We are grateful for the trust each organization has placed in MDT and look forward to supporting their teams and members for many years to come.

There is plenty happening as we head into the final months of 2026, but before the holiday season arrives, I hope everyone gets an opportunity to enjoy everything fall has to offer. Thank you for your continued partnership, your feedback, and the trust you place in our team every day. We never take that trust for granted, and we look forward to continuing to earn it.

Warm regards,

Chris Kowal
President & Chief Executive Officer
