POSITION LOCATION

This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. Currently 5 days of on-site work per month are required.

POSITION PURPOSE

Deliver measurable results through working with credit union clients in evaluating their technology solutions, identifying gaps, and helping them remediate the gaps. The consultant will assist the credit union in identifying the solutions to satisfy their requirements and strategic goals through discovery calls, vendor evaluation presentations, and reference calls/visits. The consultant will play a crucial role in advising clients on leveraging technology to optimize their financial operations, enhance customer experiences, and achieve strategic objectives.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop a strong understanding of the credit union’s business including strategic plans and current technology goals.
  • Review clients’ current technology solutions and processes/workflows, identify gaps, and present recommendations for remediation.
  • Utilize a consultative relationship approach that ensures that the credit union’s business objectives are met, and the performance metrics of their technology portfolios are maximized.
  • Lead the vendor selection process based on credit union strategic objectives and needs.
  • Facilitate various meetings and events including project kickoffs, analysis sessions, vendor demonstration sessions, and other on-site meetings as needed.
  • Cross-sell products and services as appropriate for the credit union.
  • Prepare technology recommendation reports in a board-ready format.
  • Manage large scale vendor selection projects, ensuring timelines are met and client expectations are exceeded.
  • Work with market evaluation and product management teams to develop expertise in credit union technology solutions.
  • Provide analysis, market insights, and expertise to credit union clients to assist them in selecting the best product/service for their specific situation.
  • Develop strong relationships with technology vendors in the credit union industry.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to ensure the client experience is optimal.
  • Create internal and external training to provide overview of the credit union technology market.
  • Stay engaged with industry networks and participate in conferences, forums, and events to share insights and best practices.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, understanding their business goals, challenges, and opportunities. Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify areas for improvement and develop tailored strategies to address client needs.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to conceptualize, design, and implement technology solutions that align with business objectives and regulatory requirements. Lead project delivery, ensuring successful execution, timely completion, and
  • seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with clients through proactive communication, responsive support, and value-added services. Act as a liaison between clients and internal teams, advocating for client needs and driving customer satisfaction.
  • Provide training, workshops, and knowledge-sharing sessions to empower clients and internal teams with the necessary skills and expertise to maximize the benefits of technology solutions.
  • Works with other department leadership to develop implementation and service standards, processes, and key performance indicators.
  • Works with product management, marketing, sales, client services to assist client with technology product/service selection and implementation.
  • Keeps the VP, Fintech Solutions informed of client project progress toward established objectives, and of any significant problems.
  • Attends and participates in meetings and committees as required.
  • Stays informed of trends and changes in the information services field.
  • Embraces all other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • B.S. or equivalent experience and training. MBA or similar preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in financial services, with a track record of successfully consulting with clients in the selection, implementation, and adoption of new technologies.
  • 5+ or more years of project management experience

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE

  • Experience in the FinTech industry and strong knowledge of credit union technology vendors and vendor selection.
  • Strong analytical/technical knowledge pertaining to decision analysis.
  • Experience with large CU vendors such as digital, core, payments, loan/account origination, and data analytics.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions.
  • Additional hours, including Saturday/Sunday support, as required.
  • Occasional overnight travel for training, conferences, and to clients required.
  • Long duration of computer workstation usage.
  • On-call responsibilities, available 24/7 via phone or pager.

The compensation is based on experience and offers a base salary plus bonus opportunities. We offer BCBS benefits, dental, disability and life insurance at 90 days and 401K after one year.
