SALARY RANGE

$70,000 – $80,000

POSITION LOCATION

This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. Currently 5 days of on-site work per month are required.

POSITION PURPOSE

Business Consultants offer advice and expertise to credit union clients to help them improve their operational performance through Symitar expertise and industry knowledge. Working on Strategic Projects, such as core conversions, credit union mergers or Direct Consulting Engagements, the Business Consultants offer recommendations over a variety of areas, including branch operations, lending, membership, collections and other credit union operations. This individual will collaborate to enhance product utilization and gain efficiencies with clients. It will be this individual’s focus to work remotely and on site for the purpose of analyzing current software solutions and identifying recommendations for processes and procedures, as well as core and software solutions to help achieve client goals.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducts research, surveys, and interviews to gain understanding of the business.
  • Detects issues and investigates ways to resolve them.
  • Communicates the pros and cons of possible credit union operational strategies.
  • Compiles and presents information orally, visually and in writing.
  • Builds business recommendations using interviews, document analysis, storyboards, site visits, business process descriptions, as well as task and workflow analysis.
  • Works with MDT business areas to facilitate the implementation processes for projects and consulting engagements.
  • Works with clients on data analysis and mapping for database consolidations.
  • Familiar with MDT module configuration and implementation.
  • Provides input to executive management to make ongoing improvements to standard templates and company practices as needed.
  • Manages and tracks the status of requirements throughout the project or task.
  • Responsible for working with other departments to ensure work is flowing effectively and timely throughout the organization.
  • Works proactively with software team to ensure built-in quality throughout the process.
  • Engages with other departments and resources to research best practices, system capabilities, and industry norms to provide consulting options and solutions.
  • Develops a strong understanding of client objectives and assesses their business strategies and needs in relation to their objectives.
  • Ensures effective ongoing communication with clients to maintain high levels of customer retention.
  • Responds to client requests, both internal and external, in a timely manner.
  • Works to foster a cooperative team environment.
  • Keeps management well informed of activities and any significant problems.
  • Utilizes appropriate communication tools based on company standards.
  • Tests all aspects of software and core settings from the perspectives of functionality, usability, reliability, integration and performance.
  • Assists in diagramming processes and provides documentation of QA activities as needed.
  • Validates and verifies compatibility with system specifications, standards, and documentation of test plans and quality plans.
  • Maintains an in-depth understanding of the core and software products from a functional testing standpoint, custom solution options, and industry knowledge.
  • Identifies and champions resolution of quality issues.
  • Assists in setting department and company standard practices and procedures.
  • Responsible for working with company partners to ensure the delivery of the product or services is successful.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert for co-workers.
  • Keeps work area clean, secure, and well maintained.
  • Completes assigned documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Completes special projects as assigned.
  • Maintains active communication with internal and external teams.
  • Attends and participates in meetings, conference calls, and seminars as required.
  • Promotes a positive image of the Company when working with clients and vendors.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • High school graduate or equivalent experience.
  • College training in business preferred, or an equivalent amount of experience in credit union operations and practices.
  • Three to five years of experience in financial institution core processing.
  • Experience working with multiple projects at once.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE

  • Knowledge of consulting business practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Symitar financial institution processing systems.
  • Knowledge of MDT product and service offerings, and strategic business partners.
  • Knowledge of Credit Union industry.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions (such as in a typical office).
  • May require out-of-state and local travel up, minimum 25% of working time.
  • Additional hours as required.
  • Long duration of computer workstation usage.
