SALARY RANGE
$55,000 – $65,000
POSITION LOCATION
This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. Currently 5 days of on-site work per month are required.
POSITION PURPOSE
The Applications Analyst I position is responsible for supporting, maintaining and analyzing the Symitar core system application, MDT File Transfer Automation services and ancillary applications in accordance with established procedures, guidelines and deadlines. Checks functionality and ensures that programming code passes the established guidelines before implementing it into production. Supports team members and other departments on all operational and application tasks.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists in coordination of Symitar core system application upgrades, including all service packs and semi-annual major releases both internally and with clients.
- Maintains an understanding of software applications or services that MDT provides to clients, as assigned.
- Assists with the Symitar core system setup and File Transfer Automation for clients and/or vendors.
- Performs Symconnect / SymXchange configuration set up and troubleshooting as required.
- Responsible for all Symitar core system operational requests such as: SYM refreshes, Backups, RESTARTS, Purging, Symitar Batch Files, Consoles, Print Queues, GOODNIGHT processing, etc.
- Installs and supports Job Scheduler Web (JSW) with the RSJ Agent.
- Provides support for projects such deconversions, conversions, and other related tasks as needed.
- Implements, supports, monitors and troubleshoots any failed File Transfer Automation (FTA) files sent or received to ensure they are transmitted for our clients as scheduled.
- Follows ACH file processing procedures and performs DRC tests.
- Assists AIX team with Symitar daily maintenance to ensure system is running efficiently.
- Provides primary and backup on-call support.
- Participates in Beta Testing with third-party vendors.
- Assists Software Services, Implementations, and the Conversion Teams with operational requests.
- Works with Applications Analyst II and Manager of Compliance to effectively maintain the Security Groups within the Symitar system.
- Works directly with clients to implement purging into production. This includes assisting the credit union with completion of the survey, creation of jobs, job modifications and testing.
- Research ARCU-reported issues and assists with resubmitting files.
- Reponsible for Peer Review and Move to Live SDLC steps for Symitar programming requests.
- Responsible for working with other departments to ensure work is flowing effectively and timely throughout the organization.
- Keeps management team informed of progress towards established objectives and any significant challenges.
- Completes required reports and records.
- Attends and participates in meetings and committees as required.
- Keeps work area clean, secure, and well maintained.
- Completes special projects as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Two (2) years of college training in business, or an equivalent amount of experience in operations and practices.
- One (1) or more years of experience in financial institution core processing.
- One (1) or more years of experience with the Symitar core system.
- Experience managing multiple projects at once.
- One (1) year of related programming experience.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE
- Knowledge of financial industry.
- Extensive knowledge of the Symitar core system.
- Knowledge of software applications.
- Understanding of related programming languages and procedures.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions (such as in a typical office).
- Additional hours, including Saturday/Sunday support, as required.
- Occasional travel overnight for training and conferences.
- Long duration of computer workstation usage.
- On-call responsibilities, available 24/7 via phone or pager.

The compensation is based on experience and offers a base salary plus bonus opportunities. We offer BCBS benefits, dental, disability and life insurance at 90 days and 401K after one year.
